Did you know that coding is now a part of the school curriculum in many states?

Before you know it, you’ll be surrounded by adept coders in your home and workplace. There’s no getting away from it.

So, how are your coding skills? If, like most people born before 2000, your answer is “I don’t have any coding skills,” don’t worry! There’s still time.

If you want to know the best way to learn how to code without feeling your age, read on.

    Learn the Basics

Before jumping straight into it, locking yourself in the basement, and thinking you’ll be hacking databases in ten minutes, learn the basics!

There’s a wealth of easily accessible information about coding for beginners online that’ll teach you the basics of coding. Once you’ve grasped the basic coding language, you can begin to get serious about learning code.

The areas you should familiarise yourself with are

    • HTML (HyperText Markup Language)
    • CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
    • Java (a programming language)
    • JavaScript (a scripting language)
    • Python (a programming language)
    • C Sharp (write excel c#)

    Take an Online Course

Once you’ve learned the basics, it’s time to start the real work. There are plenty of free online coding tutorials that’ll teach you how to code.

Be prepared for a sharp learning curve – take it slow and make sure you properly grasp each concept before moving on to the next.

    Join a Community

Now that you’re invested in your coding journey, it’s time to find other like-minded people. Join online forums about coding, and you’ll learn valuable coding tips and programming tips from people that already understand programming languages.

Every coder makes mistakes when they’re starting out. By joining a community early, you can learn from others’ mistakes and avoid them yourself. Additionally, you may even make some new friends!

    Practice Your Skills

Finally, don’t forget to keep practicing. Learning code is a never-ending journey. You can choose to learn the basics and leave it at that, or you can continue your education and become a master.

Sign up to all the latest sites with coding updates; you’ll receive newsletters with updates from the tech world.

Try to practice coding every day, even if it’s just reading a blog post or writing a few lines of code. Your skills will expand infinitely if you commit to regular practice.

The Best Way to Learn How to Code Made Simple

Now you know the best way to learn how to code without getting overwhelmed and giving up, you can impress your peers with this rare skill (although don’t expect to impress the kids; they’ve been doing it since they were ten).

Why not get started? Once you’ve mastered the basics you’ll find it’s not nearly as difficult as you thought it’d be.
